At Expansion Church, you’ll enter a warm and welcoming atmosphere, surrounded by friendly people who are genuinely excited to meet you. We’re committed to making sure you and your children (if you have them) feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home.

Our Sunday services start at 9.30am and finish at approximately 11am. A church services includes a time of praise and worship, prayer, and a practical, Bible-based message designed to empower and inspire you.

After the service, we’d love the chance to connect with you personally over a free barista-made coffee. It’s a great opportunity to get to know each other, answer any questions you may have, introduce you to some new friends, and help you discover ways to stay connected throughout the week.

You will still enter the same warm and friendly atmosphere, greeted by people who are excited that you came back again.

You will be asked at the end of the service if you would like to connect with us further by receiving our weekly newsletter and event invites. When you join our church family we like to look after you and offer pastoral care when you may need it.

We also ask you to dinner with our Pastors, key leaders and some of our church members to help you connect.

Your children will love Expansion Kids!

For families with children aged 1–5 years, we offer the Joey’s Room, a recently refurbished parents’ room, fully equipped to keep your little ones engaged throughout the service. During the preaching portion of the service, this room will be supervised by Expansion Kids volunteers, to provide parents with an opportunity to enjoy some kid-free time while they listen to the preaching. Parents are welcome to stay with their child at all times.

We also offer a comfortable Nursing Mothers’ Room at the rear of our auditorium.

While you enjoy the service, your children, from Prep to Grade 6, are invited to dive into age-appropriate lessons, fun activities, and small group time designed just for them.

During the message our Year 7 to Year 9 youth, who may not be ready to sit through the whole service, are invited to attend BLAST, a group designed specifically for their needs, with a message based on the sermon delivered that day.

On Sundays

We understand that early teens aren’t always ready to sit through the entire Sunday service. That’s why Years 7–9 young people are invited to join a Bible study group designed just for them, immediately after worship on a Sunday.

This group follows the same message shared in the main service, but is presented in a way that’s engaging and age-appropriate. It’s a safe and supportive space where your teen can ask questions, explore faith, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

On Fridays

Expansion Youth is a vibrant and growing community for young people in Years 7–12 right here in Gympie.

Expansion Youth runs two programs for Senior (Years 11 & 12) and Junior (Year 7-10) from 7:00–8:30pm every Friday during the school term. There are also seperate life groups specifically designed for your teen that run fortnightly. Check out the Groups page.

Absolutely! We love Water Baptism Sundays. If you haven’t yet been water baptised, we encourage you to prayerfully consider taking this important step in your faith journey.

You’ll be invited to attend an information session the week prior to the baptism, where you can learn more about what to expect. On the day, water baptisms take place inside the auditorium during the church service, making it a powerful and shared moment for our whole church family.
